Soap Making Books

If you are considering making soap from scratch, investing a bit of cash in some good soap making books is a really good idea!

When I decided to add this page to the site, I went out shopping to find out what, if any, books were available locally. I have a few really good books in my personal library which I purchased about six years ago but on my shopping expedition I could not even find one book on soap making!

As I live in a reasonably large city in Australia, I can't help but believe that if I can't find soap making books, then it is likely to be difficult for you as well.

So, if books are hard to find locally where can you buy them?

Online!

To find soap making books online, you have a couple of options. I usually go straight to Amazon, but you can also find quite a few very good books by just typing 'soap making' and 'books' into a search engine.

Could You Use Some Help Selecting a Book?

Having this web site gives me a really good excuse for buying books - I have quite a large library already covering a rather diverse range of topics and it doesn't take much to convince me to add to it!

On to the current excuse - as I add to my collection of Soap books I will add links to reviews to help you decide which book is the right one for you. Each review will cover the content and style of the book, how useful I found it, and where you can get it.

From the author:

Maybe you've made melt-and-pour soap and want to move on to something more challenging and rewarding. Maybe traditional soapmaking appeals to you, but you figure it's too difficult or dangerous. Or maybe you're already doing it, but outmoded ideas and methods are complicating the process and slowing you down.
No matter which of these fits you, you'll find Smart Soapmaking practical, helpful, and refreshing.
